New logo --
We are pleased to use the 38th Annual National Assembly as launch pad for our new logo identity for the association.
The new logo (shown above) was commissioned in April 2009 as part of our website re-design project. After several back-and-forth modifications, the logo was completed and subsequently submitted for approval by the board. The approval was granted in July.
The logo was designed by SEED Group, Inc., a Chicago-based graphic design company that
also specializes in travel, online publishing and other new media communication. |

Welcome to the THIRTY-EIGHT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY of the American Association of University Administrators. This year we are especially pleased to be gathering in the vibrant city of Arlington, Virginia where cultural, social, and intellectual resources abound.
For the first time in the history of our organization we have chosen to convene during the traditional academic year rather than during the summer month of June when many of our campuses are less busy. And so we recognize that your time with us is of the utmost importance as you are away from you campus responsibilities. We hope that by locating our assembly near the District of Columbia you might have the opportunity to visit with your
governmental representatives and the associations that support post-secondary education in America while you’re here.
We have also chosen a theme for this year that is intended to challenge us in ways that we haven’t before been challenged. The program intentionally asks us to look at our industry through different lenses and to question the customary practices of our campus lives. As is our tradition, we will engage with you as peer colleagues and friends and hope that in doing so we are supporting and building our community and expanding, professional relationships around the globe.
We thank our sponsors, DeVry University, Pearson Publishing, the Greek Embassy in Washington DC, American Community Schools of Athens in Athens Greece, and many more to come.
Signed,
 |
